Artivism
Art is activism. We believe illustration can move people in ways data and headlines cannot. A single drawing, shared widely, can change a mind.
A worldwide illustration movement gathering artists for the environment. Draw the change. Share the change.
Our Planet Week was born in early 2020, in the aftermath of the Amazon and Australian bushfires. We watched the world burn, and we wanted to do something with the tool we had: art.
What started as a simple invitation between a handful of illustrators turned into a worldwide movement. Seven editions later, more than 33,000 artworks have been shared, and 11,500 trees have been planted thanks to our partnership with One Tree Planted across the 2020 to 2023 editions.
Our Planet Week isn't a competition. It's an open call to anyone with a sketchbook, a tablet, or a willingness to try, to stop scrolling for a week, look at the planet, and draw what you love about it. Then post it, tag it, and let the work do the talking.
By doing just a little, we can achieve so much, when we move together.Founding principle · Our Planet Week

Imagine the world you want to live in, then draw it. Every prompt is a small exercise in seeing the planet, and our place in it, more clearly.
What we draw, we begin to live. Small daily habits (less waste, more attention, kinder choices) add up across thousands of artists.
Post your work. Tag it. Repost others. The hashtag turns isolated drawings into a visible, collective voice for the environment.
A new theme each day from April 22 to May 1. Follow along on Instagram or check the prompts list below.

For the first four editions we partnered with One Tree Planted. We're proud of what we built together.
In past editions (2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023) we partnered up with One Tree Planted for the challenge. Every time someone posted an illustration using #onetreeplanted, a tree was planted. After each event the community voted on where trees would go.
Our Planet Week is a non-profit illustration challenge. We do not sell merchandise, we do not own the artwork illustrators share during the challenge, and we do not license the name OPW / Our Planet Week or the hashtags for any reason. Anyone is free to join the art movement by participating each year and raising awareness for the environment.
Save the dates. Follow along. The next edition starts on Earth Day, 2027.
